Frequently Asked Questions

Care & Durability
How to wash your swimsuit to preserve its colors?
Rinse your swimsuit in cold water immediately after leaving the water, whether it's the sea or the pool. Then hand wash it with a mild soap or delicate detergent, always in cold water. Absolutely avoid the washing machine, tumble dryer, and wringing, as these distort the fibers and alter the colors. ECONYL®, the material used in every Khiónê creation, is a particularly strong recycled nylon, but like any quality technical material, it performs much better with careful maintenance.
Should you rinse your swimsuit after every swim?
Yes, and it's even the golden rule. Chlorine from the pool, sea salt, and sunscreen are the silent enemies of your swimsuit. They degrade fibers and dull colors much faster than normal use. A simple rinse with cold water immediately after each swim is enough to significantly extend the life of your piece. It's a simple step, but it makes all the difference.
How to dry your swimsuit without damaging it?
After rinsing, gently press your swimsuit in a towel to absorb excess water, without twisting or wringing. Then lay it flat or hang it in the shade, away from direct sunlight. Prolonged UV exposure discolors fabrics and weakens elastic, even on the most technical materials. Forget the tumble dryer: it is the number one enemy of lingerie and swimwear.
How long does a good quality swimsuit last?
A premium, well-maintained swimsuit can last you several seasons. At Khiónê, we have chosen ECONYL®, a recycled nylon fiber known for its resistance to chlorine, UV rays, and deformation. Durability is at the heart of our approach: produce less, but produce better. A Khiónê swimsuit is not a disposable item; it's an investment in your summer wardrobe.
Size & Fit
How to choose your swimsuit size?
Khiónê swimsuits are available in S, M and L. To choose your size, take your bust, waist, and hip measurements, then refer to our size guide available on each product page. If you are unsure between two sizes, our swimsuits fit well. Please note that we generally advise taking the larger size for lined pieces as they offer more compression. If in doubt, our customer service is here to guide you.
Which swimsuit to choose according to your body type?
There is no universal rule: there is your figure, your style, and what makes you feel beautiful and free. This is precisely Khiónê's philosophy. That said, here are some guidelines: one-piece swimsuits (like the Gabrielle or the Eloé) shape and enhance all figures. V-neck crossover tops (like the Charlotte) flatter smaller busts. High-waisted styles lengthen the silhouette and slim the waist. Two-piece sets with high-waisted bottoms are perfect for enhancing hips and glutes.
How to measure your bust for a swimsuit?
Place a tape measure flat around the fullest part of your bust, making sure it stays level at the back. Note the measurement in centimeters. This is the main measurement for choosing a swimsuit top or a one-piece swimsuit. Combine it with your waist and hip measurements for optimal selection, especially for two-piece swimsuits.
What swimwear for a generous bust?
Underwired or structured V-neck models, such as the Gabrielle or Hannah, are particularly suitable for generous busts. They offer natural support without excessive padding. The thin but lined straps provide discreet support while remaining elegant. Khiónê's objective is to enhance, never to constrain.
What swimsuit will make you look slimmer?
The one-piece swimsuits with thin straps and high-cut high-waisted design, a signature of the Khiónê collection, are your allies. They visually lengthen the legs, slim the waist, and naturally support the entire figure. The minimalist cut, without decorative overload, plays on pure lines for an elegant shaping effect. If you are looking for a swimsuit that would further slim your silhouette, then choose the darkest color.
Materials & Quality
What materials are used in Khiónê swimsuits?
Every Khiónê creation is 100% made from ECONYL®, a recycled and recyclable nylon fiber made from waste: used water bottles, fishing nets recovered from the sea, industrial textile scraps, and old nylon clothing. The fabric is sourced in England. The labels are made of polyester, manufactured in Denmark, resistant to water, chlorine, and UV, and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified. A choice of materials thought out from A to Z for quality and the planet.
What is ECONYL® and why did we choose it?
ECONYL® is a revolutionary fiber developed by the Aquafil Group. It is fully recycled nylon, made from waste that would otherwise have been incinerated or left in the oceans. What makes it special? It is infinitely recyclable without loss of quality. In terms of performance, it is resistant to chlorine, UV, and salt, making it the ideal material for a premium, durable swimsuit. It is for all these reasons that Chine, founder of Khiónê, made this choice from the very beginning of the brand.
Are Khiónê swimsuits chlorine-resistant?
Yes. ECONYL® is a technical material naturally resistant to chlorine, making Khiónê swimsuits perfectly suited for pool use. The labels are also designed to resist chlorine, UV rays, and water. To maximize their lifespan, however, rinse your swimsuit with cold water after each use in the pool.
Are Khiónê swimsuits eco-friendly?
Yes, on several levels. The raw material is ECONYL®, a 100% recycled and recyclable nylon made from waste. Manufacturing takes place in carefully selected European workshops in Portugal, and in France for Tonia, our best-seller. The labels are Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified, guaranteeing the absence of harmful substances. Khiónê's philosophy is to produce less but better: durable pieces that last through the seasons rather than disposable collections.
Trends & Style
What are the swimwear trends this season?
Khiónê's SS26 "Kaya" collection fully embraces the major trends of the moment: the return of the structured one-piece, underwire bikinis with a slightly high-cut leg, unapologetic minimalism (goodbye flashy prints), deep hues like plum and navy alongside sunny colors like fuchsia and cherry. Luxurious sobriety establishes itself as the new standard for premium swimwear.
One-piece or two-piece swimsuit: which to choose?
Both have their advantages, and the choice depends primarily on your intended use and preferences. The one-piece swimsuit offers a more structured, shaping look, and is often more versatile for transitioning from the beach to the poolside. The two-piece offers more freedom of customization: you can mix and match top and bottom sizes, colors, and adapt each piece to your measurements. At Khiónê, both styles are available and designed to be combined with each other.
How to wear a swimsuit off the beach?
This is a question we love. The one-piece swimsuit works very well as a bodysuit, tucked into high-waisted jeans or under an oversized blazer for a summery urban look. Underwired swimsuit tops can be worn as a crop top under a light jacket or an open shirt. Khiónê creations, with their minimalist aesthetic and meticulous finishes, naturally lend themselves to this kind of beach-to-city transition.
The Khiónê Brand
Where are Khiónê swimsuits made?
Khiónê creations are made in Portugal and France, in specialized workshops guaranteeing ethical working conditions and high-quality finishes. The ECONYL® fabric is sourced in England. The labels come from Denmark. Each piece is the result of a manufacturing chain designed for quality, transparency, and respect for working conditions.
Who is behind the Khiónê brand?
Khiónê is Chine, 27, passionate about fashion, travel, and sunshine. She created the brand based on a simple belief: every woman deserves to feel free and beautiful in a swimsuit, regardless of her age, body shape, or size. The name Khiónê comes from Greek, the origin of her own first name: that of a Greek goddess of cold and winter. An acknowledged paradox for a brand born under the sun.
What are the prices for Khiónê swimsuits?
Khiónê creations are positioned in the premium segment, reflecting the choice of eco-responsible materials, meticulous European manufacturing, and quality finishes. One-piece swimsuits are offered at around €165 to €230, and two-piece suits at around €160 to €225. An investment in a durable piece, made to last several seasons.
Does Khione offer men's swimwear?
Yes, Khiónê also offers a men's collection, available on the website. It shares the same values of quality, European manufacturing, and the use of ECONYL®.
